[When the video kicks on, the camera is shaky. That's because Darin is fumbling with trying to get his Shellphone aligned. When he appears on screen, he's upside down.]

Okay. Okay, you guys are not going to believe this, but I did it.

[He squints at the screen.]

Oh Gods damn— [He flips the shellphone so he's right side up. He's also covered in sweat and dirt and soot. And metal shavings. And what appears to be oil? Some sort of tar-like polish.]

Okay, there. Anyway! So, a couple of months back I had some people help me secure some of that crazy mood ore. The Magnetecorum! Well, thanks to everyone's help, I've had plenty to work with and process. The goal was to make something that I could use for the cores of the Beacon Boxes, but I needed to refine the metal into something usable. The ore was too brittle to work with on its own— and yes, trust me, I've made the "fragile emotions" crack about a thousand times in the last month and a half— BUT! But, I think I figured it out. I managed to create an alloy that I could then smelt into an ingot and— Okay seriously, check this out~!

[Darin turns the camera to one of the workbenches in his forge which is piled high with wafer thin slabs of immaculately shaped and polished metal. He picks up a piece, and the glossy, platinum-like metal begins to glow red-hot, as if it had just come out of the fire. But either it doesn't burn Darin or he doesn't notice it.]

Ah! There, see?! See?! It's resonating! It's getting as fired up as I am! Now that I have this stuff, I think I can make even more potent, robust cores for the boxes! And, in the meantime, just to get a better handle on how it responds to people, I'm going to be personally crafting some special armor and accessories that'll be up for sale by next month!

Also? Magnetecorum is a real mouthful and kinda sucks from a marketing standpoint, which is why I've taken the liberty of giving the alloy a new, much easier to remember name!

Ladies and Gentlemen? I give you...

And no, the name is not up to workshop. You want to name it something better— which, by the way, you can't— invent your own alloy that responds to your heart's strongest desires!

This is Professor Turo, and my apologies for perhaps a late statement that I may not be so easily found as usual the last several days; a few days more as well. Less time spent walking Cosmo, other places.

Of course I can still be reached over these, but I have been taking some time to myself. Finishing up a few projects, making room for others that are more in progress. Preparation for possible adoption candidates at Cosmo Conservatory -next month may do well for that- so I can be found within the medical building there once more at the very least.

[—that melody hanging in the air for a few notes. It at least helped to soothe...]

HELLO ESCORDVI! I had the idea of making use of the Lunar Reflections event MANTA prompt to have Emet go full villainy mode. The idea is that he will be destroying many, many things in an attempt to remake them into his "ideal" image of how the world should be. This may possibly be combined with the Imagenae prompt to further destabilise him because how dare things not appear the way they ought to(!!!).

Since this this is inevitably going to draw a lot of attention, I'm sussing out who would like to get involved, whether by alerting others, fighting him, being the one to throw him in the pool/expose him to heat/fire, etc. (I'm partial to tossing him in the pool since fire seems too easy as a way out.)

Waiting on mods to see exactly how much destruction I can or can't cause. But there will definitely be NPC deaths along the way. If you have suggestions on how to make this better (aka. worse) I'm all ears.

UPDATE!

ALRIGHT - the plan has now been refined:

- Emet-Selch will get possessed by the moonshadow somewhere on Lunare.

- After a time, he finds his way to Sipsa where messing around with the Imagenae magicks angers him because nothing he produces matches his 'ideal'. There won't be as much physical destruction here, if any, because the magicks weren't intended to be harmful and he's not going to be adept at wielding them, unlike his original canon power of Creation.

- He'll be aggressive and people can fight with him here to knock him out of Sipsa and back to Lunare.

- Once he comes to, he'll start targeting people (NPCs/PCs) and trying to 'raise' them as his brethren. Essentially this is supposed to involve flooding them with memories they're supposed to have, but of course it doesn't work like that here so instead they'll just end up driven mad by it. This is the most destructive/chaotic part but it will be limited to a small town.

- Emet-Selch will be destroying things he doesn't like and trying to remake them in an 'ideal' image (and doing a poor job of it). There will be people left insane by his attempts to 'restore' them to their 'true selves', babbling about memories that he has forced upon them.

- Ultimately, someone or some people can team up to knock him into one of Lunare's pools (with the help of the sun and moon leviathans) and finally exorcise the moonshadow from him. ~~And then he has to face the consequences for what he's done.~~

ADDITIONAL NOTE: If your character has a particularly unusual soul please let me know because Emet will probably zero in to try and mess with you!! We can work something out >:)

Can someone confirm for me the date, and then explain to me how exactly I apparently slept for nearly six weeks--what in the deep blue sea happened for that to be to be the case, and what have I missed up to now? Did I seriously end up missing my own birthday...? Should I be concerned that I've apparently been asleep for so long, or has there been cases of people here that have suddenly ended up in a coma here for just as long before?

[Also is the Mostro Lounge okay, someone please tell him that it's been looked after while he was asleep...]

Welcome to the Test Drive Meme for

escordvi! Anyone can participate in the test drive, regardless of invite eligibility. Just keep in mind that only those who have had their invitations approved by the mods can actually reserve on April 24 and apply on May 1st. Our EMP/ATP can be found here.

For your toplevel, please include the following: Character Name | Canon | Armada Choice | TDM (IF TDMING). Current players can use the same header, just without the "TDM" label. We do require those who are TDMin'g to include the label so other players can distinguish between others.

For everyone's convenience, TDM threads can be carried over in game if you wish! If you are still unsure which armada to place your character, you can play it a bit loose and vague in the TDM and make retroactive changes if you carry over the threads. The log itself is set to cover starting from April 1st until the end of the month. Characters will appear at random intervals during this time rather than all at once, so players have some more flexibility on how much more adjusted they are for someone else.

ENABLE ME TIMBERS: APRIL 2026

YO HO HO EVERYONE! This is an ATP/EMP post where players can make cast requests for people to app into, or make ads for characters they are considering bringing into the game. It works like any other ATP/EMP, but we do have a few things to note down:

» Invitations are required to reserve and apply! But you can go ahead and post to the ATP/EMP post with a note you need an invite. You can either rely on a current player for help, or you can directly request an invite from the mods.

» We have a 65 player cap.

» Players can only app 2 characters at once with a max limit of 3 in game. But since this is an ATP/EMP, feel free to put more if you're having trouble deciding!

» Our Game Info should cover everything you need, from basic premise summary to the nitty gritty details of the game mechanics. If you have any questions, post them there.

» Just want to make it clear that this is not a claims page. While we give priority to whoever is on the Reserve list, we do allow app challenges, and there is no rule against multiple players TDMing the same character. Of course we don't want there to be too much conflict, so everyone please be polite no matter who it is.

» TDM is Saturday, April 11. This TDM will double as our Something's Fishy event, but we will include a traditional "starter prompt" for TDM specific characters. Everything will be carried over as canon!

» Reservations open Friday, April 24th.
